Safety Education

In 2013 the GFSC formed a partnership with the University of Southern California's Aviation Safety and Security Program. The USC's Aviation Safety and Security Program will be delivered to members in the UAE on an ongoing basis. Courses will be scheduled approximately every 6 months and will be posted below. The GFSC and USC will work with members and students to ensure that the demand is met and that students get the right courses to enable them to complete the full program in the required time.

History of the Program

In 1952, USC established the first Aviation Safety Program at a major research university. Since then the program has gained a highly respected reputation nationally and internationally, with more than 25,000 aviation professionals from over 70 nations having completed its courses.

The program was originally developed by a project team of faculty from three disciplinary areas: engineering, management and psychology. The courses they developed integrated appropriate subject matter from these areas into a comprehensive systems approach to safety.

Upcoming Courses

  • Aircraft Accident Investigation (AAI): October 2014 in Dubai
  • Human Factors in Aviation Safety (HFH): February 2015 in Dubai
